Welcome to the Grade 6-12 TAS MUN program and the Middle School MUN Team! You will be representing TAS as we host the annual TASMUN conference! Advanced MUN delegates may also apply for a position on one of our Travel Teams to participate in an overseas conference: SHASMUN in Shanghai, MY-MUNOFS in Singapore or MYMUN in Malaysia.
This WordPress will serve as the focus point for our communication and resources. Weekly meetings are held 3:45 – 5:15 PM every Monday with additional Wednesday and Friday practice options. MUN continues to be student-run, with upper school leaders providing mini-lessons and simulations, chairing practice debate sessions, and providing one-on-one help alongside the middle school coaches. Grade 8 veterans step up to serve as leaders and as mentors for new students, too.
We look forward to working with you all as you make the most of the MUN program opportunities to develop your public-speaking and leadership skills. TAS has a strong tradition of MUN and we are excited to be writing new chapters into the history books that show the community at large that middle school students are every bit as capable as their upper school counterparts when it comes to negotiating, debating, collaborating, caucusing, and problem-solving on a global scale.
